Easy street to a healthy diet

It's hard to change your diet and your lifestyle. But the easier you make it on yourself, the more successful you will be. In the past couple months my fiancee has lost nearly 20 lbs, and we really haven't changed much at all. A few months ago he cut back on beer and when he did have drinks he's have a gin and tonic or some red wine, obviously that helps a ton. Then he stopped drinking coffee and lost 7 lbs that week. After that we subscribed to the Organics to You delivery service and receive the "small bin" every week. I've got to say, this small bin is enough for two adults to eat for a week! This week alone we received lettuce, red chard, fava beans, asparagus, green beans, peaches, nectarines, plums, cherries, corn and onion. Not to mention the stuff still left over from last week (carrots and potatoes mostly). So we've switched up our eating gradually over a few months. A lot more fruits and veggies, quinoa and brown rice in favor of white carbs, tea instead of coffee, gin and tonics and wine instead of beer, and a short trip to the gym here and there. Voila, 20 lbs gone like that!

If you want to change your diet, right now would be a good time to get the service because there's tons of stuff in the summer. The nice thing about this service vs a CSA is you pay weekly, they'll swap out stuff you don't like, and if you're going to be out of town just email and let them know not to bring the box that week and you won't get charged.

Some of the things we've had this week:

Whole wheat pasta primavera with fava bean ragu
Burst tomato, shrimp, zucchini and artichoke pasta primavera
Fresh asparagus tart
Savory whole wheat crepes with asparagus and brie
Southwest salad with black beans, pico de gallo and cumin chicken w/ orange lime vinaigrette
